Growing Strawberries
Since 2000
Berry Flats Fruit Farms is a 78-acre farm with 10 acres of strawberry field. We are located 7305 S. M37, Kingsley, Michigan 49649, one-quarter mile from the corner of M-113 and M-37. It has been a functioning strawberry farm for 22 years. We have a new irrigation system to supply the field with a consistent watering schedule to ensure our berries grow to their fullest flavor and sweetness. We utilize straw to protect our plants in the early growing season, and weed control to allow the new runners freedom to grow and spread. We have two types of strawberries including June-Bearing, which is the first early season berry and Everbearing, which produces fruit throughout the summer, allowing us to provide a longer season of berries for our customers. We are a proud member of Michigan Farm Bureau. We are open 7 days a week, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
More Than Strawberries
In addition to strawberries, we will provide other fruits and vegetables at our fruit stand. Depending on the time of year, there will be asparagus, black sweet cherries, sweet corn, peaches, and apples. Some varieties of apples will include Premier Honey Crisp, Royal Red Honey Crisp, Zestar, Ruby MacIntosh, Gala, Jonagold, Pink Lady, Ida Red, and Ever Crisp. Our peaches are all freestone including Red Haven and Coral Star.
We also have plans to plant a blueberry field in the near future.
